On Saturday May 31, 2008 the Atlanta Freedom Concert Band will take the stage in a Concert for Hope to benefit the Emory University Vaccine Center’s Hope Clinic. This will be AFCB's first benefit concert and will conclude the 2007-2008 concert season.

The Atlanta Freedom Concert Band will perform American Overture for Band by Joseph Willcox Jenkins, an arrangement of Handel’s Sarabande and Menuetto, followed by Percy Grainger’s well-known Irish Tune from County Derry and the “Shepherd’s Hey” English Morris Dance, a rousing Bolivian march entitled Marcha 3 de Febrero by Simeon Roncal, Tara's Theme from Gone With the Wind, Andalusian Fresco by Paul Durand, Gustov Holst's First Suite in E Flat for Military Band, and the first and third movements of Robert H. Pearson’s Suite for Band.

Under the baton of Music Director Henry Cheng, the Atlanta Freedom Concert Band offers a varied look at the world of concert music.
