Buz Carr Award

Each year active members of the Atlanta Freedom Bands are asked to nominate and vote for an individual within the organization who has best embodied and demonstrated the principles upon which our founder, Buz Carr, established the group. These principles include volunteerism, commitment, respect and fun.

In an unprecedented fashion, the 2007 Buz Carr Award is being shared between two AFB members, Abby Gaskins and Cliff Norris.

Abby is recognized by the AFB membership not only for her leadership in the percussion section and contributions to the success of efforts and events critical to the growth of the AFB organization, but also for the youthful energy she infuses into each rehearsal and performance.

Cliff is recognized for his contributions of leadership, organization, and for the outstanding execution of AFB's first formal membership survey and music director search
