2010 Buz Carr Award Recipient - Dan Berger Each year active members of the Atlanta Freedom Bands are asked to nominate and vote for an individual within the organization who has best embodied and demonstrated the principles upon which our founder, Buz Carr, established the group. These principles include volunteerism, commitment, respect and fun. Dan has been an active member of the Atlanta Freedom Bands for over 15 years. In that time he has served in numerous roles including multiple terms as Board of Directors Secretary and countless years as Librarian. In addition Dan has added his musical talents to multiple ensembles including the Concert Band, Marching Band, MetroGnomes and the Brass Quintet. At the end of 2010 Dan decided to retire from the Atlanta Freedom Bands. His presence, energy, musical and leadership voice will be greatly missed.
In addition, we would like to acknowledge and express our appreciation to the numerous other individuals who have volunteered their time and talent to the musical direction and growth of our organization and membership. Their legacy and contributions live on in every aspect of the Atlanta Freedom Bands. ![]() |
