Upcoming Events

Join Atlanta Freedom Bands for "Voices of Equality" - music commemorating our work to create a more perfect union.  Hosted by Spencer Stephens, this virtual concert program will feature new virtual recordings, special selections from the AFB video vault, and a brand new piece from our student composer Katahj Copley.  The works on the program represent a diverse collection of voices highlighting the work for equality from Women's Suffrage to the Civil and LGBTQ+ Rights Movements while telling stories of a couple of groundbreaking musicians.  Plus, we will have a special feature from our AFB Color Guard!

Saturday, March 20, 7 PM

Pre-Concert Video starts at 6:45 PM

The video will stream from AFB's Facebook page and YouTube channel. So connect your favorite device to your TV and prepare to have your own personal band concert right in your home.

The concert is free. We also welcome donations to help sustain AFB during this time when we can't offer in-person concerts.  We are proud to bring this significant music to you.  As always, we are proud to be your community band!

The concert program includes:

"Heart of Fire" by Lauren Bernofsky

"These Voices United" by Tyler S. Grant

"Unspoken" by Katahj Copely, our student composer

"Doxology" by Jerbrel Bowens

"God Bless the Child" with the life story of Billie Holiday

"Duke Ellington In Concert" with a retelling of the story of the Duke's first concert in Atlanta

"I'm Still Standing" by Elton John

And More!

The concert video will include captions. The standard complement of symphonic percussion will be in use.  For accessibility questions, please email development@atlantafreedombands.com.
